Growing a business is hard work.
It can be difficult to get out there and connect with your customers. It feels easier to sit behind a computer screen and plan away and do the things you need to do.
But this won’t result in a growing a successful business.
You are your business. You are the face of your products and services.
The only way to be bigger and better, is to push the boundaries and get out there and connect with people.
I have found that you don’t have to leave the comfort of your own home in order to connect with people.
You don’t even have to leave your computer. Instead, you take this amazing tool and get you on screen.
Being on screen (whether it’s webinars, videos, interviews, etc) is fast becoming a great way of connecting with your potential clients, and growing the know, like and trust factor with them.
Not only do people get a feeling of who you are through your words and being on screen, they also get a sense of who you are..
And so, I have 5 steps that will help you to start thinking about how you can transition some of your skills to the screen.
1) Your Mind-Set Matters
Your mind-set is crucial to pushing your boundaries and achieving the things you want to achieve in your business.
We all know how to do things, but it’s the doing part that we get stuck on. We procrastinate. We put it off.
In order to move forward and to be able to get on screen, we need to understand ourselves.
What are your fears? What is holding you back?
When you understand these you can start push your boundaries.
As you connect with more people and more clients, you will see that these limiting beliefs had nothing concrete about them.
Your confidence grows and so does your business.
2) You Are Your Best Asset In The Business
Whether you’re selling products or services, you are the one people believe in.
You are the one that people buy from.
I want you to let your personalities shine through in everything you do, whether you connect with people on screen, and in life.
Don’t copy anyone else and how they are portraying themselves.
You are uniquely you and no –one can be a copycat.
A great quote from July Garland sums it up perfectly:
“Always be a first rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate
version of somebody else”
3) Share Your Knowledge
I know how scary it can be to get on screen, or do something like public speaking.
I mean, what do you say?
What I’ve discover through working with my clients, is that people have a big block around this. They don’t know what to say and so they don’t say anything at all.
I can completely understand this. Whenever we feel unprepared, we feel anxious. Our minds go into overdrive.
But there is a simple solution to this.
It’s to plan what you are going to say.
Plan out an outline and the key points, and practice, practice, practice.
I know that each and every one of you has something amazing you could share with me today.
There’s knowledge and value in you that your potential clients are yearning for. You just need to say it.
4) Choose The Right Platform For Your Business
Now I say choose the right platform, but we don’t always actually know what it is until we’ve tested it out.
I mean there’s a lot of things on the internet that we could use.
There’s webinars, Periscope, blab, Google hangout, Facebook Live, and videos, to name just a few.
They are a great marketing tool for your business.
Find out where your clients hang out and choose this platform to get started with.
5) Decide To Take Action And Do It
Yes you could let your fears hold you back. But then you aren’t pushing the boundaries in your business and you are accepting what is.
You’re not going out of your comfort zone and growing.
And that’s what business is all about.
If we wanted an easy simple life we definitely wouldn’t have chosen to start a business. We probably work harder now than we did at our normal 9 to 5 job, but having your own business can be so rewarding.
So take action today and do it!
Pushing your boundaries is hard and being on screen feels even harder.
You may not feel comfortable or confident enough, But pushing through it can lead to amazing results.
